Case Study 1
A fifth grade teacher at Morgan Hill Elementary charter school field-tested the pre-publication version of the Bridges in Mathematics Grade 5 curriculum during the 2006-07 school year. The results from the mathematics section of the statewide test for 2006-07 show that the Bridges students outperformed their peers statewide in aggregate and for each subgroup with reportable data. In addition 5th grade scores at Morgan Hill were substantially higher than prior years.

A fifth grade teacher at Carus Elementary field-tested the pre-publication version of Bridges in Mathematics Grade 5 during the 2006-07 school year. The 2007 results from the mathematics section of the statewide assessment show the Bridges students outperformed their peers by over 20 percentage points.

Case Study 3
Both fifth grade teachers at Evansville Elementary field-tested the pre-publication version of the Bridges in Mathematics Grade 5 curriculum during the 2006-07 school year. The results from the statewide test show the Bridges students outperformed their peers in aggregate and for each student subgroup with reportable data. In addition, almost 40% of the Bridges students scored at the advanced level on the test, compared with 17% of their peers statewide.
