The Year in Kindergarten

Children use a paper chain to keep track of the days they've been in school over the course of the year. They look for patterns in the weather and create markers for the Calendar Grid. On the 100th day of school they celebrate by solving a mystery and making a crown. Students count the number of students in class while singing and clapping and discuss yesterday, today, and tomorrow. After an initial start-up period at the beginning of each month, Number Corner activities take an average of 10 minutes per day.
