Product Description
In this integrated math-science unit, students spend 15 sessions learning about beam, arch, and suspension bridges by reading non-fiction text, looking at pictures, and building model bridges. Students test their bridges in systematic ways to learn about the merits, drawbacks, and interplay of different materials and design features. Finally, they graph and analyze their data to draw conclusions about effective bridge design and construction.
Kit includes Kids Discover Magazine issue about bridges, tape measures, centimeter cubes, rectangular prism geoblocks, and some bridge-building materials.
